Korea Trip 2015 (Day 2)

I am back with a new blog layout! Even simpler than the previous one omg am I really getting old and boring? (Yes I think so)

So continuing from my previous entry...

We woke up pretty early because we were on a tour and I was quite sleepy(zzz). Headed down to the breakfast place and horrible food greeted us omg. I guess we didn't really like it because it was quite different from SG style or rather typical hotel style? It was just (yuck). The variety was also bad and there were ZERO hot drinks. No coffee or tea....... only plain water and milk....

rice.. kimchi.. cabbage.. rice.. soup.. more rice..

First stop of the day: Teddy Bear Museum! Anyway I always thought only Jeju Island has this teddy bear thingy but apparently not! And our tour guide told us that this one was actually the first and original one in South Korea! I choose to trust her by the way (lol).

the whole place is not very big but everything was just cute inside!

omg look at them with the Korean costumes (SO CUTE)

my selfie attempts again

qtpie Abigail!! (I miss her so much sobs)

so cute so cute so cute I want to hug her rn

cuzzies! (lol had a hard time squeezing inside)

so pretty!

hello qtpie!

master of poses a.k.a me celebrating my bday L O L

The tour guide brought us to some seafood market place after that (which I don't even know is some impromptu plan or we're really supposed to be there coz it was a super not touristy spot).

and we spotted this poor crab lol

my daily want - BANANA MILK!!!!!

really not touristy at all ah...

And up we went to Mt. Sorak~! Some touristy temple place but with super nice scenery! The whole place is pretty huge though so you gotta walk quite a bit and it's uphill. A plus point though was we went during spring and the weather was really cooling because I can't imagine climbing all these under the hot sun (ew).

so you pick a stone on the floor, make a wish and balance it on top of any of these...

group shot! (with abigail asleep lol)

we then climbed up some stairs for this great great view

climbing yet another set of steep stairs to see...

this

and it was back to our hotel! (omg it was like a 3 hours ride up the mountain and I needed to pee real badly cries)

dinner time!!! :-)

mushroom hotpot! super nice tho there wasn't much meat and we were deprived :-(

I super love!

At night my cousins and I went to the hotel hotspring and we had to strip naked (omg huge barrier over here) but we decided to do it anyway with my mom staying in the hotel room herself hahaha.

It was a great experience though because once you're inside nobody really cares anymore and no one will be staring at you, people (mostly ajummas) just wanna relax!

The eye-opener was that the ajummas were so dedicated to scrubbing their bodies.. and they all had really nice complexion! When we were washing up before stepping into the hotspring, we got scolded by them for not scrubbing enough, omg embarrassing much lol.

Anyway the hot spring water was sooo comfortable I really wanna experience that right now again. Everyone should just go try it at least once(even if you're super shy to strip naked)!!

And that marked the end of Day 2!! Bye!

Korea Trip 2015 (Day 1)

Finally! I have time to do some proper blogging in front of my laptop now! I've been busy working and earning some bucks for my upcoming trips (yay!!).

As I age I definitely blog a lot lesser now as compared to when I was younger. In the past, I used to write about a lot of nonsensical stuff (e.g. what homework I have, what lessons I attended every single day despite having the same timetable for a whole semester wtf) and describe in full detail my feelings toward every single shit that happened in my life. Looking back at it, I think people should remain like their childlike selves forever. Having the ability to describe how you truly feel is a blessing ok and I really hate how I am unable to do that anymore now. It's just..really hard to even say how I feel now. Am I really an adult already? (sigh)

Anyway, I digressed.

My first overseas trip this year! I went to South Korea with my mom, elder sis, cousin and her mother-in-law. A little weird combination because in the beginning it was just my mom and my sis. After that my cousin decided to join and wanted to bring her mother-in-law too so tadaah we went! When planning for the trip I was still under the internship program with Giamso Tours so (in order to accommodate my mom) we booked a tour under them for 5D4N.

It was a new operator my ex-colleague tried so I was like the guinea pig for them. However, I really enjoyed myself quite a lot for this trip!

1) the tour was small with only 8 people.
2) the itinerary was not very packed/rushed.
3) it focused more on the rural areas of South Korea instead of the city area
4) it was more of a sightseeing than shopping tour
5) there were some free time for us every night to do our own things!

while waiting for our tour bus (lol wtf another driver photobombed us)

along the way there were loads of cherry blossom trees!

The first stop was 63 Building. We were given time to explore the Sea Aquarium, Sky Art Gallery and the Wax Museum. (all entrance fees were already paid for)

these are real!

a look at Incheon (the buildings were all so alike!)

master of poses - me

master of poses x2

After lunch we asked the tour guide for photo time on the streets because the cherry blossoms were too pretty! (perks of having a small tour group)

And we set off for Nami Island!

the ship we took to Nami Island - spot Singapore's flag!

on board the ship~

super yummy red bean buns steamed on charcoal stoves! plus points with the cold weather!

had to wait for a good opportunity when there was no one in the background hehe

the scenery was just superb every where!

That's all for Day 1. Stay tuned for the rest of the trip~!
